“A bookshelf will also be installed in the Center’s 500-seat conference hall" — Umida Teshaboyeva
Another discussion meeting dedicated to the organization of the library of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan was held. Specialists working in the library system from various regions of the republic participated in the meeting.
The agenda included the discussion of the updated interior design project of the 1st and 2nd floors of the Center’s library. In addition, issues related to equipping the library, the IT park and AACT software, and the formalization of scientific projects were addressed. Project leader and Director of the National Library, Umida Teshaboyeva, delivered presentations.
“Library science is not a simple task — it is a profound science. It’s not just about placing thousands of books on shelves. Specialists study and analyze the books, and based on their findings, they organize them on the shelves according to scientific criteria. Every expert in our working group is asked to approach their tasks scientifically. Our work at the Center is not limited to just the library. Another major task lies ahead — the Center’s 500-seat conference hall will also feature a large bookshelf. The books placed there will be thoroughly studied and selected by experts, showcasing only the best and rarest works. Furthermore, since the Center is an educational space, every department will include books and related materials. Our colleagues will also oversee this aspect, providing support to departments in line with library standards,” said Umida Teshaboyeva.
For reference, 26 scientific-innovative projects are currently being implemented in the library department of the Center. At today’s meeting, those responsible for the projects gave presentations of their work.
