A representative from Uzbekistan was awarded the "Art and Literature" Order of France

Yesterday, at the Ministry of Culture of France, a ceremony was held to present the insignia of the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) to Gayane Umerova, the Chairwoman of the Cultural and Art Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, reports the correspondent of the "Dunyo" agency.

In her speech at the award ceremony, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati noted that the consistent state policy carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the field of cultural development in Uzbekistan is contributing to the strengthening of the strategic partnership with France.

"This prestigious award recognizes the efforts and contributions of Uzbekistan in strengthening international cultural ties and developing the global dialogue in the field of art. Awarding the representative of Uzbekistan with this honor, in the presence of government officials, the President’s administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, diplomats, cultural figures, and international partners, is a vivid testament to the effectiveness of cultural diplomacy in the New Uzbekistan," said Minister Rachida Dati.

It is worth noting that Gayane Umerova is a member of the Scientific Council of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.

In recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in the fields of culture and art has reached a new level due to many significant initiatives, including large-scale exhibitions of Uzbek heritage at the Louvre and active participation in international cultural forums.

In this context, the Cultural and Art Development Foundation of Uzbekistan plays a key role in implementing priority projects aimed at promoting Uzbek culture and art.

The Order of Arts and Letters is awarded annually to around 60 individuals worldwide to recognize their contributions to the flourishing of art and literature.

The team at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan sincerely congratulates Gayane Umerova on this prestigious award.
