— The full name of the scholar born in 824 in the village of Bug’ near Termez is Muhammad ibn Isa ibn Sawrah ibn Musa ibn Zahdak Sulami Bughi Tirmidhi.
— During his long journeys through Iraq, Isfahan, Khorasan, Mecca, and Medina, he studied under the greatest scholars of his time in the fields of Qur’anic recitation, rhetoric, jurisprudence, history, and hadith.
— Imam Bukhari, considered a contemporary of Imam Tirmidhi, praised him highly during their meetings in Nishapur, saying: “I have benefited from you more than you have benefited from me”.
— In the field of hadith, Imam Tirmidhi was taught by notable scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim, and Qutaybah ibn Sa’id.
