Dialogue through the exhibition: The intersection of knowledge, design, and technology
Today, the next meeting of the Extended Academic Council was held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The meeting discussed the current directions of the Center’s scientific research and exhibition activities.
In particular, Professor Jannat Ismoilova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, provided detailed information about the ongoing work within the section of the exhibition dedicated to the pre-Islamic period. She noted that modern 3D design solutions have been developed in collaboration with “Outdoor Factory” for this section, with 90 percent of the project now completed. The remaining parts are planned to be refined during the ongoing work process.
“This exhibition is not merely a collection of artifacts; it is a spiritual bridge connecting us to the past. We are presenting the civilization of the pre-Islamic period not only through artifacts but also with modern multimedia solutions. The most important stage now is to enrich it with content: video clips, animations, documentaries, and interactive texts. These materials will add deeper meaning to the exhibition’s narrative. We are shaping each element with historical accuracy, aesthetic taste, and scientific grounding”, said Professor Jannat Ismoilova.
Seventy to eighty percent of the exhibition has been equipped with artifacts, and their placement is currently being carried out. At the same time, it was noted that one of the key priorities is to enrich modern information and communication technologies such as LED screens, touch panels, and multimedia complexes with meaningful content. Currently, documentaries, video clips, and animated materials are being prepared.
Additionally, work is underway on creating brief annotations and explanatory texts for the artifacts that will be presented in the exhibitions. Council members provided suggestions and recommendations to accelerate this process, address existing issues, and form a scientifically grounded and meaningful exhibition.
The meeting was attended by scholars from the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, prominent historians, designers and artists, as well as technical specialists. They actively shared their views on creating the exhibition at a high aesthetic and spiritual level.
The team at the Center of Islamic Civilization is committed to implementing this important cultural and educational project with high quality and within a short timeframe.
