Uzbekistan and Malaysia: a new stage on the path of scientific heritage!

Today, the 5th International Scientific-Practical Online Conference “Thinkers of Islamic Civilization” was held in collaboration with the Institute of Islamic Civilization under the National University of Malaysia and several partner organizations.

During the conference, Gulnora Ganieva, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, provided information about the new stage of academic and educational cooperation with Malaysia.

She noted that the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia has granted researchers from Uzbekistan the right to access digital copies of more than 100,000 manuscripts and rare works.

Additionally, within the framework of the “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in World Collections” project, a book-album based on historical sources preserved in Malaysia has been prepared, with plans for its presentations to be held at educational institutions in Malaysia.

Within the conference, an agreement was reached to establish an expert society with the participation of scholars from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Uzbekistan, and to collaborate on promising academic projects.

Representatives of the following organizations actively participated in the conference:

Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan

International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan

Imam Bukhari International Research Center

Center of Islamic Civilization

Muslim Board of Uzbekistan

Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan

This international dialogue became an important step in the deeper study of Islamic scientific heritage, its promotion on a global scale, and the initiation of new collaborative initiatives.
