The Saudi ambassador visited the Center of Islamic Civilization
His Excellency Yousef Saleh Al-Gahrah Al-Otaibi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting with the esteemed guest, the Center’s Director, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, emphasized that the Head of State had visited the complex several times in recent years, providing instructions to ensure its construction is beautiful and of high quality, to study the opinions of global scholars, and to enrich its content. It was also noted that the construction of the Center and the work to enhance its exposition with new content are under the constant attention of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and information was provided regarding the assigned tasks and directives aimed at transforming this scientific and educational hub into the largest intellectual center of New Uzbekistan.
The screening of a documentary film about the purpose and activities of the Center also gave the Saudi ambassador a broader understanding of the grandeur and profound significance of this megaproject being built in Uzbekistan at the initiative and under the vision of our Head of State.
During the meeting, the Saudi ambassador, Yousef Saleh Al-Gahrah Al-Otaibi, highlighted the prospects for multifaceted cooperation in the fields of construction and religious and educational initiatives being carried out in our country. He highly praised the efforts implemented directly under the initiative of the Head of State. The ambassador noted that while globalization processes are unfolding around the world and conflicts persist, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports Uzbekistan’s initiative to widely promote the ideas of enlightened Islam and to study and research the heritage of our ancestors. Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome after closely familiarizing himself with the activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, Yousef Saleh Al-Gahrah Al-Otaibi stated:
“I am very pleased with the steadily growing development of bilateral relations. As I familiarized myself with the establishment and future activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Imam Bukhari Innovative Museum in Uzbekistan, I am delighted by such reforms in the religious and educational sphere. In the future, it would be appropriate to attract qualified specialists and organize seminar trainings for staff to create convenience for visitors. I hope that this meeting will serve as a starting point for joint initiatives to be implemented in the future”.
In addition, the meeting discussed numerous prospects for cooperation related to the Center’s activities. These included studying the practices of museums to enrich the Center’s Museum exposition and expanding the platform for dialogue among representatives of the academic community.
